The RISE Initiative

What makes Christianity different from every other religion? We believe that there is a Messiah who has risen from the dead! 2 Timothy 2:8 says “Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel.” Because Jesus Christ has risen from the dead, He now invites men and women everywhere to repent of their sins and rise to newness of spiritual life. It is the privilege of Christian leaders everywhere to call others to a new risen life with Jesus Christ! The harvest is plentiful and the laborers few, therefore a new generation of leaders needs to rise up for Kingdom service.

For students with Campus Outreach Charlotte, the RISE initiative is an opportunity to Reach, Invest, Serve, and Engage.

This initiative will allow for more students to participate in growth opportunities by increasing the financial accessibility of several events. Student leaders who participate will be equipped to raise $2,500 that will cover the cost of four critical events: the 2024 Alpha Project, a campus specific fall retreat in 2024, 2025 Recon, and the 2025 Winter Retreat.

FAQs

  • Rise Initiative funds will go towards the participation costs of the 2024 Alpha Project, a fall retreat with your campus, Recon 2025, and the 2025 Winter Retreat.

  • CO Charlotte uses a platform called Managed Missions to facilitate student fundraising. You will be assigned a personal profile where you can view donor and gift information, as well as your overall fundraising progress. You will also be provided a personalized link to a website where potential donors can learn about this opportunity and make a donation.

  • Like fundraising for other CO events, any money raised in excess of $2,500 will go towards general event costs and scholarships for other students.

  • The funds will be applied to each event in sequential order (Alpha Project, fall retreat, Recon, Winter Retreat) within the year. Any remaining event costs not covered by raised support will be the personal responsibility of the student participant and will be due at the time of the event. For example, if a total of $1,000 is raised by the end of the Alpha Project which costs $1,500, an additional $500 will need to be raised or paid by the student leader.

  • The funds will be used for other students' scholarship needs.

  • Any funds raised will be allocated as scholarships to help other students. Due to IRS regulations, all support raised by each participant goes toward the cost of the event, not an individual participant. Donations cannot be returned if a particular individual were not able to attend the event.

  • Your Rise Initiative goal will be adjusted to include the additional costs of this opportunity.
